Hey lovelies! My life is usually pretty boring each week, Monday to Friday usually consists of going to work and then coming home and blogging/watching TV until it’s time for bed. My Fiancé is home on the weekends so that’s usually when I’m the busiest as we try to spend as much time together as possible then he leaves on a Sunday night and it’s back to the same old routine. This week was really busy though so I thought I’d do a post about what I got up to!
Monday 21st May
Monday was a pretty boring day, I worked from 8am until 5pm, when I got home I had some tea and had a shower then I spent ages trying to decide what outfit I was going to wear to the theatre the next day.
I spent the rest of my evening writing My Disney Wishlist post and then had an early night as I was super tired and knew Tuesday was going to be a long day!
Tuesday 22nd May
I was in a great mood on Tuesday as I was going to the theatre for the first time in ages! I worked from 8am until 4.30pm then quickly got changed at work and walked to the train station to go and meet my Mom in Birmingham. I’m lucky enough that we have a train station just over 5 minutes walk away from work so I got there quite quickly.
When I got into Grand Central me and Mom went to Nandos for tea, I always get the same thing at Nandos because I enjoy it so much I don’t see the point in ordering anything else. If you’re interested I get a lemon and herb pitta, no salad, with halloumi cheese and then peri peri chips and garlic bread!
After we’d eaten our Nandos we had a little time before we had to get to the theatre so we did a bit of shopping (obviously I had to have a quick browse around Disney Store) and we went in Selfridges and bought a slice of cake each from the Food Hall as our dessert. I had Red Velvet cake as it’s my all time favourite and it was gorgeous!
We then walked to the theatre and after getting a bit lost we made it there really early and picked up the tickets from the box office. We were seeing Legally Blonde the musical at The New Alexandra Theatre, I’ve wanted to see this for ages so I dragged Mom along, she wasn’t too bothered as she’d never seen the film but we both really enjoyed it! Our seats had a great view for just £15 a ticket, the whole cast were amazing and the musical was better than I expected! I’ve been listening to the soundtrack none stop ever since! I strongly recommend seeing this musical if you get chance it was fab!
Wednesday 23rd May
Wednesday was another pretty boring day, after a late night on Tuesday I was lucky that I didn’t have work until 1pm, however even though I was hoping for a lie in I was awake pretty early and the sun was shining so I decided I’d walk to work instead of getting the bus to enjoy the weather! The walk there takes between 45 minutes and an hour depending on how quick I walk and the traffic on the main roads.
Because I’d walked to work I also walked home… WHAT WAS I THINKING? It was even warmer in the evening than it had been on the way and I was so hot I didn’t think I’d make it back at one point! Luckily I got there in the end and after a quick shower and some tea it was time to write another blog post and then relax for the rest of the night!
Thursday 24th May
Thursday was another busy day, I worked from 9am until 4.30pm and then headed straight home to get changed so that I could get to my local shopping centre ready for the Cath Kidston launch!
The launch didn’t start until 7 but we got there at 6 so we had tea in ‘Eat Central’ which is basically just a food hall with loads of different restaurants, I had toad in the hole from the ‘British Classics’ counter as it’s delicious and always fills me up! By the time we’d finished eating it was only 6.30 and I didn’t think there would be many people waiting for Cath Kidston so we had a quick browse around the shops first… how wrong was I? We got to the store at 6.50pm to find a queue of around 20 people if not more. I was quite shocked at how many there were waiting and then we had to wait well past 7pm as they only let a few people into the store at a time.
I’m not the most patient person in the world so this was really stressful for me as the one bag I really wanted everyone seemed to be picking up so I was just keeping my fingers crossed that they would have some more stock in the back! Even though there was a really long queue everyone seemed to be taking their time browsing, taking pictures of things and picking what they wanted so I was getting more frustrated by the second. My store didn’t even stock the fashion pieces so it wasn’t even like we were having to wait for people to try things on!
Luckily when we finally got into the store I managed to get everything I wanted and I even convinced myself to get another bag, me and my mom spent quite a lot of money between us but the whole collection was so beautiful I couldn’t resist! We also both got this beautiful tote bag free as we were one of the first 50 customers to spend £50 or more!
When I got home I also took part in #DisneyBloggersChat which happens every Thursday at 8pm on Twitter! This week it was hosted by my friend Lize from Lize In Disneyland and it was a great chat about Disney collectables, it had loads of engagement and it’s always great to chat to people who love the same things as you!
Friday 25th May
Friday consisted of work from 8am until 6pm which is basically the longest shift we can do, from there I went food shopping with my Fiancé to pick up a pizza for tea. We got home and I cooked that then we spent the rest of the night in bed binge watching Chicago Fire as he was really flu’d up and I was shattered so we weren’t up to doing anything else!
Saturday 26th May
We didn’t have any plans for Saturday but it had been my Nan’s 70th birthday last week and I hadn’t got round to seeing her as I’d been so busy with work so I phoned her and arranged to meet up for a late lunch. We went to a local pub which does a carvery, it wasn’t the nicest but it was cheap and cheerful and then I got a slice of red velvet cheesecake for pudding.
I sometimes forget how much my Nan enjoys seeing us, I might not see her for a few weeks at a time but an hour or two out of our day really means a lot to her so I need to start making more of an effort to go and see her!
The rest of the evening was pretty much spent the same as Friday, lying in bed watching Chicago Fire but I wouldn’t have it any other way! We only have just over 1 season and then we’ll be completely up to date!
Sunday 27th May
I’m currently writing this post on Sunday, my Fiancé has gone out for the day so I’m at home writing lots of blog posts with Disney movies on in the background, what could be better?
I don’t have any plans for the rest of the day and tomorrow is bank holiday but seen as my Fiancé will probably be super hungover I doubt we’ll get up to much. We might make a trip to the cinema if there’s anything worth watching but if not I might drag him out somewhere depending on what the weather is like!
What did you get up to this bank holiday? Did you pick up anything from the new Cath Kidston collection? Let me know in the comments!
