Full Face Using Products I HATE!

Hey lovelies! I’m really not feeling well today and I wasn’t in the mood to write but if I want to meet my June goals which you can read here I thought I better get a post up! My makeup drawers are getting so full and there’s so many products in them I don’t use so I decided to do this post of products I hate to encourage me to throw some away! I’m such a hoarder when I’ve spent money on something I hate to throw it away even if it doesn’t work for me!

Base Products

L’Oreal Infalliable Total Cover Foundation – I bought this when it was first released as I love the original L’Oreal Infalliable 24hr and I hoped this would be similar, but I was so disappointed! The foundation is so thick you can’t apply it with a beauty blender at all without it ending up a patchy mess and although the coverage is better when buffed in using a brush I still dislike it! Considering I picked up the lightest shade (obviously this is me the milk bottle) it makes me look so orange it’s horrible! I used to be able to make this work if I mixed it with a lighter foundation but it still wasn’t my favourite and ain’t nobody got time for that anymore!

L’Oreal True Match Concealer 1C – I don’t hate this concealer but I don’t like it either, it’s way too pink toned for me so maybe if I had 1N I’d feel differently but it doesn’t give a great coverage and when it comes to concealer I’m definitely a full coverage girl! I also felt like this took away some of the coverage the foundation gave so I was left with even less coverage than I started with!

Maybelline Superstay 24hr Matte Powder – again considering this is the lightest shade of the product it is a little too dark for me! This is another one that I don’t hate I just can’t use because the colour is no good and it doesn’t do as good a job as my trusty Stay Matte does so I never reach for it!

Maybelline Master Contour Stick – I got this when contouring first became a big thing to try and do it myself but I hated it and haven’t used it since until now! I felt like the product took off the foundation underneath and the contour side in ‘light’ looks brown on the stick but it’s actually so grey toned when you put it on it doesn’t suit my skin at all! It is super easy to blend out it’s just not a good colour!

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Lace – this is one of the products I won’t be throwing away as I do quite like the pink shade of blush in the middle but the other two are really orange toned and just not something I’d ever use! I don’t see orange as being a good blush colour at all, sorry!

Sleek Distorted Dreams Highlighter Palette – I loved my Sleek Solstice palette so much that when this was released I knew I had to have it! This is another one that I had high hopes for and it completely let me down! I’m not a fan of creme highlighter and there’s 3 of them and only 2 powder so that wasn’t great but if the powders were good I wouldn’t be as disappointed! The 2 powders are a pink shade which doesn’t suit me at all and a brownish colour which would be way too dark for me so that’s why I hate this one!

Eye Products

Revolution Pro Eyebrow Cushion – if you read my testing Revolution Pro post you’ll already know I was super disappointed with this product and it hasn’t got any better! In fact I feel like it’s drying out already and I’ve only had it around a month and it hasn’t been used since the first time I tried it! This product is just so hard to work with and I can’t get any sort of definition to my brows with it, it just goes everywhere!

Rimmel Wonderfully Real Mascara – I actually don’t mind this mascara for a natural make up day but it’s the one I dislike the most so I had to choose it for this post. The mascara is good like I said if you’re going for a natural look but when wearing it all day I find it transfers onto my under eyes quite badly which is why I never tend to reach for it!

Lips

Sleek Matte Me Lipstick Shabby Chic – this product used to be my holy grail of liquid lipsticks when I first started wearing them! That was until I tested out others and realised how drying this formula was! It’s so uncomfortable on the lips that even after a few minutes I felt like I needed to get it off. I would never choose this over other drugstore formulas now just because of how drying it is! I also don’t have this on in the pictures as it applied terribly and made me look like a clown so I had to wipe it all off!

Sleek Matte Me Metallic Lipstick Volcanic – this is another product which is really drying but that’s not the main reason I dislike this! I know it’s metallic but it’s so sheer that you can’t really tell you’re wearing it unless you put another product underneath first which kind of defeats the object! Another one for the bin!

Look at the state of those brows!!

So there you have it my full face of makeup using products I hate/dislike! Sorry I didn’t do eyeshadow but I’m just really not feeling well enough right now. Literally everything I used here went in the bin except for the mascara, blush palette and powder (just in case I wanted to do a full face testing Maybelline!) Obviously I don’t hate any of these brands in fact if I did a full face of products I love they’d all have something which featured in there but not every product can work for everyone!

Have you tried any of these products before? What were your opinions? Let me know in the comments I love to hear from you!

  1. I love the idea of this! It’s a shame that products don’t work sometimes, especially when you get so excited and when their other products are so good!

I tried one of the Matte Me liquid lipsticks once and I took it straight off the first time I put it on, and never used it again, I think. It really wasn’t for me, which was a shame because the colour was a dark red and gorgeous. But it just clumped and went patchy really quickly on me!

  2. I’ve never tried any of these products before but I’ve always wanted to try the L’Oreal true match concealer because I’ve heard good things about it! I love the L’Oreal infallible foundation too x

  3. I struggling with base products so much because I’m so pale, I wish us pale girls were accounted for more in the makeup world because often the lightest shade is still too dark for me and it sucks.. 😩 You’ve also made me really glad I didn’t pick up the Brow Cushion as well!

  4. Aww, I hope you feel better soon! I haven’t actually tried any of these products before, surpisingly! It’s so interesting to see how products work differently for everyone! I usually stick to the few products that I know work. I should be braver and try some new products out though, haha.

  5. It’s so annoying about the shades, it’s such a shame that in 2018 so many brands at the drugstore still don’t go lighter than Ivory (which is always orange). I like cream highlights so I think I might like that Sleek palette! This is the second post I’ve read in less than 24 hours where someone hasn’t liked that Revolution Pro brow product, definitely know to avoid that one. I really enjoyed reading this! x

But I do love hearing other people’s opinions … I do get what you mean though, it can be kind of hard to blend which is annoying but I bloooooody love the coverage and the price 🤭😋 admittedly, I haven’t tried any of the others but you look smashing in the photo 😙 xx

  7. I’m a Makeup hoarder as well, even if I don’t like something, I’ll keep it in the hopes that I somehow change my mind haha! I have also had to throw away some liquid lipsticks after using better ones and realizing how drying they were! Rimmel stay matte is definitely one of my all time faves as well! 🙌🏼 Loved reading this! 💕
