Favourite Disney Villains – Collab With @lizeindisney

Hey lovelies! It’s finally time for my monthly collab with my friend Lize from Lize in Disneyland, it feels like forever since I wrote a collab post with her even though we’ve been doing it every month for a while now so if you’ve missed any of our other posts I’ll link them here:

Obviously all our posts are Disney related and this month seen as it’s Halloween we thought we’d share our favourite Disney villains with you! This list was actually really hard for me to put together because I just couldn’t decide who I should include, but here goes!

Ursula

The Little Mermaid was always my favourite Disney film when I was younger and it’s still one of my favourites now so I had to include the main villain from the film in this post. Ursula ‘the sea witch’ always used to scare me when I was younger she just looks SO creepy! Disney did a fabulous job of creating this villain in my opinion!

I won’t go into her story too much because I’m sure most of you will have seen The Little Mermaid but Ursula basically manipulates the ‘merpeople’ into striking deals with her which she then tries to make fall through so that in the end she gets to keep their souls. It’s all completely messed up which is why I think she makes a great villain and her song ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’ captures her personality perfectly!

Lotso

Now I couldn’t write a villains post without including Lotso because he’s the main ‘villain’ in Toy Story 3, BUT I absolutely love him I think he’s adorable, so much so that I have the huge plush version of him after months of going into the store and picking him up to cuddle because he smells like strawberries.

In my opinion Lotso is completely understood which is what makes him one of my favourite villains and why I’m still able to love him! His owner Daisy leaves him accidentally while she’s out with her family and he was so special to her that clearly she’d be absolutely distraught but her parents don’t take her back to find him, instead they just buy her a new toy to replace him. By the time Lotso makes it back to her he’s already been replaced and this breaks his heart and turns him into the ‘villain’.

Daisy wasn’t to know what had happened she was only little she probably thought it was the same toy but how would you feel if someone replaced you like that? I can completely understand Lotso and how he feels!

Maleficent

Maleficent has made this list not because of her first appearance in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ but because of her live action movie. Don’t get me wrong she is a great villain in Sleeping Beauty I mean come on she curses a baby just because she didn’t get invited to a party but the live action movie is what made me love her!

The live action film shows more of Maleficent’s back story and the reason why she is so Evil, when your childhood best friend betrays you what do you expect from a Disney movie other than to turn evil? She retaliates by placing a curse on his daughter as revenge but the film also shows how ‘true love’s kiss’ isn’t always in the way we expect and it also proves that Maleficent still possesses some of her good personality traits! It’s a great film so if you haven’t seen it I suggest you do!

Gaston

Beauty and the Beast is another one of my favourite Disney movies ever, both the animated one and live action one are amazing and I love them both so naturally I’m choosing the villain from that film for my list!

I love Gaston so much because he reminds me of so many boys in today’s society! Honestly I’m so lucky that I already have Ash because I couldn’t imagine trying to date some of the arrogant idiots now who like Gaston think they can have any girl they choose ‘just because they can’. Gaston is the type of man who most girls fall at his feet and think he’s the best thing since sliced bread but Belle sees past his looks to his horrible personality and isn’t interested in him in the slightest!

Luke Evans portrays Gaston perfectly in the live action film he’s such an amazing actor and like every Disney villain Gaston has his own song which I absolutely love it’s SO good! My absolute dream is to meet Belle in her villagers outfit with Gaston at Disneyland I think it would be a fab meet and greet especially from what I’ve seen of Gaston interactions from others!

Hades

The last villain was so hard to choose! I was torn between Mother Gothel from Tangled, Scar from the Lion King and Hades but I eventually chose Hades because I love Hercules and I think it’s so underrated compared to the other two films, plus he is a great villain!

The best thing about Hades is his temper and his hilarious one liners! I love how he has an absolute outrage and then two seconds later is trying to calm himself down again and he is so funny, my favourite line has got to be ‘you are wearing, HIS merchandise?!’

So anyway there you have it, my top 5 favourite Disney villains! Don’t forget to head over to Lize’s post to see who she included in her top 5 too! I’ll link it here

That’s all for this post lovelies! Who’s your favourite Disney villain? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I loved reading this post – we both chose Hades and Gaston! But I also chose Hans for sort of the same reason as Gaston – so many Disney villains can be seen in the men of today it’s scary! Thank you for collaborating with me again sweetie 💖

  2. Awh it’s great to see you two collab together! I love myself a Disney villain! Personally I wasn’t a fan of the live action Maleficent – I think they eventually made her not evil enough whereas in Sleeping Beauty she was just pure evil and the bit where she turns into the dragon always scared me! I think Scar would be up there – I mean, he is as evil as evil comes but he definitely has one of the best songs! The villains are so much more fun aren’t they? xxx

  4. This is such a great post Jess! Your comment about Gaston at Disneyland reminded me of when I went a few years ago with my sister, we saw him doing a set of push ups in the middle of the path so no-one could get past, it was really funny and summed his character up perfectly! ❤ xx

  6. This was so interesting to read. Thinking about it, I’ve never really thought about who my favourite Disney villains would be if I was to choose them, haha. I’m really not sure who I would pick! I was more into the heroes and that with the Disney films and didn’t like the villains 😂

  8. The Little Mermaid was my favourite as a kid too so Ursula was my first thought when I saw the title of this post! I still haven’t seen Maleficent and I have no idea why. I really like Angelina Jolie and remember being obsessed with watching tutorials for her look in it when it first came out. I need to watch it soon x

  9. Yas! I love a fun post! Of the list, Hades is my favorite. So much sass. However, I have to say my top favorite is Te Fiti from Moana. Though I don’t know if you’d classify her a villan, her character all around gave a strong message.
    Cheers xx
