Hey lovelies! It’s that time of the month again where we all talk about how fast the month has gone, how we can’t believe that Christmas will be here before we know it and where we share some of the things we’ve been loving this month. So I’m not going to bore you with all that talk again about how the month has flashed by in an instant I’m just going to say I only have 35 days until Disneyland Paris! SAY WHAT?!?! I suppose I better start making lists of everything I need to pack hadn’t I?
Anyway let’s get on with my favourites from October because that’s what you’re all here for isn’t it…
The Haunting of Hill House
Now I’m sure everyone will have heard of the new Netflix series ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ and I bet most of you have even watched it or started to watch it by now because literally everyone is talking about it but that’s because it was phenomenal! I’m usually not a fan of horror films/shows but I actually loved this, it wasn’t too scary it just had a few bits that made me jump but it definitely kept us guessing until the very end! Me and my Fiancé watched this within a few nights and we were SO hooked we even skipped the gym a couple of days so we could get home and watch it straight away!
A Simple Favour
I dragged Ash to see ‘A Simple Favour’ at the cinema at the beginning of the month; obviously anything with Blake Lively in was going to be amazing and it had to be added to my monthly favourites! I’ve loved Blake Lively ever since my teenage years watching Gossip Girl and she played such a good role in this movie! Basically her character ‘Emily’ goes missing and Anna Kendrick’s character ‘Stephanie’ tries to find out what happened to her. This film was full of plot twists, you literally didn’t know what was coming next but it was really well done in my opinion and I thoroughly enjoyed it although Stephanie’s character was a little annoying at times.
A Star Is Born
A Star Is Born is the new movie starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, we didn’t see this until the end of the month so it was a late add to this post but I couldn’t not mention it! Bradley Cooper has done an amazing job with this film, not only did he direct it, he played one of the main characters and my god he is just such an amazing actor and he has a fabulous singing voice! Every time Lady Gaga opened her mouth to sing in this film I was gobsmacked at just how amazing she is, the soundtrack is almost as catchy as The Greatest Showman and I know I’m going to be singing the songs for the next few weeks! If you haven’t seen this you need to!
I’ve reviewed three products this month on my blog that have blown me away! These are the new foundation from NYX, the new mascara from Revolution and a gift set from Too Faced.
NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation
I’ve already written a full review of this which I’ll link here but I couldn’t not mention it in this post because it’s definitely become my new favourite foundation! It’s shade range is HUGE meaning you’ll surely be able to find a good colour match for your skin and it’s super full coverage which is what I look for in a foundation. The longevity was amazing and overall it’s just a great product which is definitely worth it for the price!
The Mascara Revolution
Again here’s my review of this new mascara from Revolution Beauty, at first the £8 price tag shocked me because I thought this was a little pricey for Revolution but when I saw the results it was totally justified! The mascara did a great job at giving my lashes both volume and length without being messy or clumpy!
Too Faced Sweet Smell of Christmas Gift Set
This new gift set from Too Faced has been released as part of their Christmas range and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! The set contains 4 mini melted matte lipsticks and not only is the packaging gorgeous with little pictures on each lipsticks lid of whatever the product smells like e.g. pumpkins, cookies etc. the formula of these liquid lipsticks is fast becoming one of the best formulas I’ve ever tried! They’re SO comfortable on the lips and don’t feel drying at all! There’s a full review here.
Obviously October means that my autumn wardrobe has come out of hiding and I cannot explain how happy I am about it! Autumn fashion is by far my favourite, you can’t beat a big thick jumper and a pair of boots in my opinion so I had to mention it! Some of my favourite things I’ve worn so far are my new Dr Martens, they’re glittery and very in your face so they’re not everybody’s cup of tea but personally I adore them, tartan scarves are my go to throughout winter and I have too many chunky knit jumpers to show you all of my favourite ones! Maybe I’ll do an autumn style guide you’ll have to wait and see…
Blogger of the Month
My blogger of the month this month has to be the lovely Finlay Grace who blogs over at Finlay Grace Allan she loves autumn even more than I do, if that’s even possible and I’ve been loving all of her autumn content especially Six Must Have Hats This Autumn and 50 Happy Things – Autumn Edition so make sure you go and check those out!
Finlay is a lovely girl and she’s really supportive of other bloggers, I’ll link her Twitter here, if you’re not already following her you should definitely change that. We’ve actually got a collab post planned for Blogmas so keep your eyes peeled for it because I’m super excited to work with her!
That’s all for this month’s favourites lovelies! Let me know what your favourite thing has been throughout October in the comments!
