Blogmas 3 – Wet N Wild Makeup Buy or Bye?

Hey lovelies! Today’s post was meant to be a ‘Christmas Party Makeup Look’ but I’ll be honest I haven’t had a chance to do a look that I’m happy enough with to upload so I thought I’d finish my Wet N Wild beauty posts instead.

If you saw my last couple of posts you’ll have seen that I reviewed the Photo Focus Foundation and the Colour Icon 10 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in the shade ‘Rose in the Air’. I picked up a few more products from Beauty Bay so I’m going to let you know what’s worth buying!

Photo Focus Foundation

I’ll leave my full review of this foundation here if you want more detail, basically I didn’t get on with it at all! The shade range isn’t huge but the lightest shade was a good enough match for my pale skin and it had decent longevity BUT the applicator was atrocious and it had a horrible smell so it’s a BYE from me, sorry!

Photo Focus Concealer

I picked up the ‘Photo Focus’ concealer in the lightest shade ‘light ivory’, it had quite good coverage although I wouldn’t say it was full. The formula was ok and it blended fairly easily but what really annoyed me was the colour of the concealer!

The swatch at the top of the photo is of the concealer and underneath is the foundation. As you can see the concealer is SO much darker than the foundation that it wasn’t the best shade match for me and it would be no good at ‘brightening’ your under eyes if you’re as pale as me!

Another BYE sorry!

Colour Icon Bronzer

I picked up the ‘Colour Icon Bronzer’ in the shade ‘Ticket To Brazil’. Although it’s claimed on the Beauty Bay website as being for ‘medium skin tones’ the lightest shade looked far too light and I doubt it would have shown up on my skin.

I really like this bronzer, it isn’t too muddy looking on me and it applies really nicely! I’d definitely purchase this again in the future so it’s a BUY from me!

Mega Glow Highlighting Powder

I’ve seen SO many Youtubers rave about these highlighters that I couldn’t wait to try it out! I got the shade ‘Blossom Glow’ which is a gorgeous pink toned highlight and I really got on with this too!

The highlighter can be blended to give you a nice subtle glow but you can build it up to a VERY bold highlight and it’s beautiful! Another buy!

Here’s a swatch of the bronzer and highlighter..

Colour Icon 10 Pan Eyeshadow Palette

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, this is the other product from Wet N Wild that I’ve already reviewed on the blog because I thought it deserved a full post of it’s own, so here it is!

Coming in at just £3.75 for 10 eyeshadows this palette is a bargain in my opinion and totally worth it! The shadows were pigmented, easy to blend and looked beautiful! I’d definitely BUY one of these in another shade range in the future as they’re the perfect size for travelling too!

Lash Renegade Mascara

I always find it so hard to get mascaras that work for me so I picked up was the ‘Lash Renegade’ mascara hoping it would be good. I was so excited to try it as the brush reminded me a little of the new mascara from Revolution which I really loved but I couldn’t have been more wrong!

This mascara lengthened my lashes a little but it didn’t give them any volume and I was so disappointed with it! If it wasn’t for the purpose of this blog post I’d definitely have thrown another mascara over the top to make my lashes look better because this hardly did anything to them! BYE!!

Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Liquid Lipstick

If you read my blog often you’ll know I love a good liquid lipstick so I couldn’t test a new brand of makeup without picking up one of their’s to try! I got the shade ‘Rebel Rose’ which is described as a ‘soft rose pink’ and I loved the colour!

The lipstick applied nicely and it had pretty good longevity for a ‘drugstore price’ product, it did start to feel a little too dry for my liking after about 5 hours on my lips so it’s not the best for an all day or all night event but I was pretty happy with it.

I might BUY another one of these in the future if the shade is totally up my street!

Final Thoughts

As you can see from this post, the products I’ve tried from Wet N Wild are very hit and miss, I loved the highlighter, bronzer and eyeshadow palette, the liquid lipstick was average, but the other products were so disappointing!

I hope this post has helped if you were considering picking yourself some things from Wet N Wild, they now stock it in some Boots stores if you didn’t know!

Have you tried anything from Wet N Wild before? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I don’t have much from Wet N Wild, I have the same foundation and the same problems too unfortunately! I’d love to try the highlighter! Have you tried their brushes? I have a small concealer one but I love it for cutting my crease xo

  2. I haven’t tried any Wet n Wild products in the past couple of years, but I’ve been seeing the brand pop up in a lot of stores here in Denmark. I was looking at some products the other day but I decided not to get anything b/c I didn’t want to waste money if it was a dud. I love your post b/c now I know what is actually worth spending money on & what I can pass on! 😄
