Hey lovelies, only a week until Christmas I hope you’re all ready and have all your presents wrapped (who am I kidding I’m not even ready yet!) Today I thought I’d share a festive makeup look with you all and when I say ‘makeup look’ I really mean ‘eyeshadow look’ because how can you make your face festive unless you want to look like an elf with bright red cheeks?
There might be another one of these posts in a few days as I wasn’t totally satisfied with this look but I thought I’d share it with you anyway as it’s similar to the one I wore last year!
For my base I went pretty simple but I made sure to choose products which I know have good longevity because lets face it, who wants to be touching up their makeup on Christmas day? NOT ME!
Foundation – Revlon Colourstay ‘Buff 150’
Concealer – Maybelline Eraser Eye ’00 Ivory’
Powder – NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation ‘Ivory’
Bronzer – MUA Bronzed Perfection Matte in ‘Sunset Tan’
Blush – Rimmel Maxi Blush in ‘001 Third Base’
Highlighter – Soph Does Nails Highlighter Palette, the lightest white shade
To start my eyes I used the MUA Eye Primer and blended this in using my fingers, whilst I waited for this to dry I filled in my brows using a Spectrum A17 brush and my trusty Eylure Brow Pomade in ‘blonde’.
I used a few different palettes to create this look purely because of the shade selection, I wanted to go with a red and green look so you could just hunt through your draw and see what shades you can find which are similar!
Firstly I used ‘Oro’ from The Festival Palette by Juvias Place to set my eye primer and as my transition shade. I then used the red shade ‘Izafa’ from the same palette and blended this through my crease and into my outer corner.
I decided I needed a bit of a darker red shade in my outer corner so I used ‘Red Ochre’ from ABH Modern Renaissance to deepen the colour. Then it was time to add the beautiful ‘Pine Tree’ from the Soph x Revolution original palette, I applied this over my lid until it blended with the shadow in my outer corner.
Finally I took ‘Primavera’ from ABH and blended this along my lower lash line and took the white highlighter shade ‘Uli’ from Juvias for my inner corner highlight.
Mascara – Maybelline Colossal Big Shot
What better way to finish a festive makeup look than with a red lip?! Personally I couldn’t think of anything worse, I don’t think I can pull off red lips at all they look terrible on me which is probably why I wasn’t happy with the finished look but I rolled with it for you guys!
Lipstick – ‘Snow White’ from the Colourpop x Disney collection
Here’s the finished look, let me know what you think in the comments!
What’s your go to Christmas makeup look? I’d love to see your creations for some inspiration!
