Hey lovelies! It feels like Christmas and New Year were ages ago now even though when I’m writing this it’s only January 5th! Sorry that my December Favourites is coming to you a little late but I haven’t had room in my schedule for it until now!
Over the past few months I’ve struggled to find things to include in my monthly favourites so I’ve decided that unless I have a month where I’ve loved a lot of new things I might make these posts seasonal instead, let me know what you think in the comments!
Beauty Favourites
In December I was really ill, I got a sickness bug and then after recovering from that, the day after I ended up with conjunctivitis which meant I couldn’t wear makeup for a week. Luckily it went just in time for Christmas!
I did manage to create this festive makeup look during Blogmas which I really liked and I used all drugstore products! It was my first ever proper attempt at a cut crease and I don’t think I did too badly so that’s my first beauty favourite of the month!
My other beauty favourite for December was the Pixi Glow Tonic. I’d heard a lot of bloggers talk about this and everyone seemed to love it, I’m not big on skincare so I didn’t know too much about it but when it first came to Boots and they had an offer on it I decided to pick it up. I haven’t used it everyday due to living between mine and my partners’ house but if I’m getting a breakout and I put this on it definitely helps to reduce the spots within the first day!
TV/Film Favourites
December was an amazing month for film releases! Over Christmas we went to the cinema 3 times in the space of 4 days and I loved every single film we watched. We also saw Ralph Breaks The Internet at the start of December before heading off to Disneyland Paris which was really good!
I’m not going to go into detail about why I loved every film because most of them are included in a 2018 Film Favourites post which you’ll be seeing very soon but I will mention them all!
- Wreck It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks The Internet
- Mary Poppins Returns
- Aquaman
- Bumblebee
I haven’t watched any of the Transformers films (I know where have I been right?!) so I didn’t think I’d enjoy Bumblebee but you didn’t need to see any of the others to understand this film and I was genuinely surprised at how good it was.
Suits
Me and my fiancé have been looking for a new TV series to watch for a while now, I’ve always wanted to watch Suits but he was a little dubious. We finally took the plunge and started this either late November or the start of December and we’ve been binging it ever since! By the end of December we’d already finished 3 seasons!
I absolutely love this TV series and would highly recommend giving it a go if you’re into lawyer type dramas! It is weird seeing Meghan Markle in this though now that she’s a Princess or whatever!
Disneyland Paris
I couldn’t write a December Favourites post without mentioning our trip to Disneyland Paris could I?! If you don’t already know (which I’m sure you do if you read this blog regularly) we visited Disney at the beginning of December for the festive season and it was the most magical trip ever!
I did some of my dream meet and greets, got to experience new rides, face some of my fears and see some new shows too! I’ll be doing trip reports and restaurant reviews etc. on my blog in the future but honestly I couldn’t have asked for a better trip even with all the rain we had! If you’ve ever considered going to Disney for Christmas I’d definitely recommend it, I’ve never experienced anything so beautiful!
Christmas
Finally, a December Favourites post wouldn’t be complete without me mentioning my favourite time of the year… CHRISTMAS! I love Christmas so much, it brings family together who don’t usually see each other very often and this year was no different, we spent from December 23rd until Boxing Day visiting people every day. I received some amazing gifts this year which you can see in my ‘What I Got For Christmas’ posts here for Disney and here for home and beauty, but mainly I got to spend time with some amazing people, eating the best food and just relaxing which was definitely needed!

It wouldn’t be Christmas without shopping the sales as well, am I right?! Me and my fiancé did do some shopping (after Boxing Day! I wish companies would close their stores and give retail workers at least a 2 day break over Christmas) which has made me even more excited to get the keys to our first home as we’ve bought SO much homeware and I just can’t wait to make it our own.
That’s all for my December Favourites! Let me know what your favourite thing was in December and what you think about me making these posts seasonal instead!
Really looking forward to hearing about your Disneyland Paris trip!

Ah, I’m sorry you were ill but it still looks like you had an amazing time – I’m very impressed with your make up, it’s gorgeous. I haven’t tried Pixi Glow but I think I might have to invest, it seems to be a cult beauty favourite. And your Disney photos are absolutely magical, I’m not a huge Disney fan (sorry!) but they’re making me reconsider a visit now, haha. xx

I’m so glad you had a lovely Christmas period- I don’t think you can beat Christmas at Disney World, the weather always puts me off visiting the Paris one but I’m so glad to hear that it was super magical and enjoyable anyway! The Pixi Glow Tonic is one of my faves so I’m so glad you like it too!

We went to Paris in August one year for my birthday and honestly it was boiling! The park is definitely worth a visit even when the weather in some months is hit and miss x
